OZS hires Education Coordinator for 2016

We are proud to announce that Vic Oliver has been named our first Education Coordinator!

The Animal Explorers program will continue in 2016 with Vic Oliver at the helm.  Each month the programs will focus on a particular theme.  June is all about Predators and Prey.  The program will kick off on June 7th at 10am with ‘Track Matching” in which children will be asked to match the tracks made by predators and prey.  Other programs include, “Ferociously Fun Ferrets” in which guests learned about these friendly and playful carnivores.  Sometimes, participants will make items, like Paper Mache treats, Animal Ice Cubes, and Peanut Butter Pinecones, which provide behavioral enrichment for the animals.   Other programs involve games from an animal’s point of view, like ‘”Cheetah-Antelope tag”.  Programs will occur several times a week, please check the calendar.  They are scheduled to last approximately 45 minutes.  Class size is limited and is on a first-come first-serve basis.
